Knitting Preview February 1, 2020 issue

knitting preview

In this week’s knitting preview, we’re giving you a sneak peek at this cardigan, which is a lovely combination of traditional and contemporary.

It comes in a large selection of sizes ranging from 81 cm (32 ins) to 117 cm (46 ins).

Actual size is around 16 cm (6½ ins) larger so it will be a generous fit.

We have rated it as intermediate. The sleeves and back are in stocking-stitch (knit one row, purl one row), so will work up quickly. The fronts have lace panels created over a 17-stitch, 8-row pattern.

If you have never worked yf and SKPO before, we would recommend you practise a few rows before starting the fronts. Once you are comfortable with these sts, you are ready to go.

The lovely yarn used is Rico Fashion Modern Tweed Light And Soft Aran in Mustard (004). The mustard base has lovely flecks of colour throughout creating a tweed effect. With a 60% pure wool content, it will keep you cosy.

If Mustard is not to your taste, there are another nine shades in the range and you can view them, and order direct, at www.blacksheepwools.com.

Tweed is timeless and we reckon this style is, too.
