Features Sneak Peek: October 27, 2018 issue

I’m just back from a visit home to Devon, and while I was there we drove up to Dartmoor to enjoy a sunny day.

The moors are where we walked as a family: letterboxing around the Tors, disappearing up to the hips in bogs and eating toasted tea cakes afterwards. I can’t recommend a visit enough – or just join Neil McAllister in this week’s issue as he explores the northern edge around the town of Okehampton. Mind you, if you do go, watch out for the red flags! The MoD still owns a big part of northern Dartmoor and uses it as a firing range.

Staying in Devon, Torquay resident Lesley Pearse chatted to me in this issue about her writing career. Lesley’s written a gripping new book about a bit of neighbourly curiosity!

Marion’s gathered some delicious Hallowe’en treats together for the cookery – whether you share them with other people is entirely up to you!

Liz has rustled up some cute egg cosies in the Craft pages. They’d make a great Christmas gift for anyone who appreciates the home-made touch.

Alexandra Campbell’s “Notes From My Garden” is full of useful advice as usual – tips on finding the right person to help with landscaping, growing micro-greens (I never knew about them) and artificial turf.

We hope you love this issue as much as ever, and do let us know on Facebook or by email what you think!
