What better way to start off this week’s Sneak Peek than with the beauty of Barra?
Fall under the spell of this tranquil Hebridean island as Polly Pullar makes a special visit.
Alongside spotting minke whale, porpoises and dolphins, this trip also takes in Kisimul Castle and Bruernish Bay. You’re in for a treat.
Accessible Scottish Countryside
Dawn Geddes meets horse lover Simon Mulholland, who built a wheelchair-friendly chariot that could be pulled by his pony, Obama.
Simon believes that being in a wheelchair should not prevent anyone from being able to see the best of Scotland, and his company has opened up a world of possibilities for people with disabilities.
Root Soup
We visit Root Soup with Dawn Geddes. The innovative initiative in Belfast brings together service users with disabilities and local homeless people to cook.
The organisation has now expanded beyond simple soups to provide a full menu. In fact, up to 115 isolated or lonely locals are fed by Root Soup every week at a community meal.
Brilliant Burgers
Cookery Editor Marion has five delicious burger recipes for you to try, including a Venison Burger with Blue Cheese and Crispy Shallots.
Whether you like your burgers with or without cheese — or even if you don’t eat meat — there’s something for everyone in this great range of dishes.
Plus: we celebrate eighty years of The Wizard Of Oz, we have crochet and knitting patterns to create toys for our pet cats, and we provide a guide to consider if you’re buying a compact dishwasher.
There’s plenty to read, so pop the kettle on, settle yourself on the sofa and enjoy.

Knitting Editor Liz also has a preview of the knitting and crochet pattern you can expect to see in our pages.
