We have a lovely colourful DIY storage cube for you to make this week.
This is a versatile storage cube. We have used a fun design for children so that the cube makes great nursery storage but you can pick any type of pattern you like.
The cube would be equally useful in a bedroom or bathroom and if you would like a wipe-clean surface, just make the lining from a laminated fabric.
To make this design you need a 46 cm (18 ins) square of outer fabric and the same for lining. Foam stabiliser creates a firm surface and bias binding and double-sided ribbon add the finishing touches.
In addition you will need a sewing machine and the usual tools plus a hole punch and 8 grommets.
We have graded this an easy design. Even if you are new to patchwork, this is quite achievable and the step-by-step format is easy to follow.
The design is taken from Debbie Shore’s book, “Half Yard™ Spring Collection” which is published by Search Press, RRP £14.99. Look out for a post-free offer in the magazine.
Finally, the cube can be made larger or smaller as you please.
Everyone needs more storage and we think this really fits the bill.
