This cute tiger rattle will provide hours of fun for a little one in your life. It will be extra special, too, because it is home-made.
Worked from a fat quarter, it is embroidered to add the stripes and the features. Split stitch and satin stitch create the detail. We have supplied diagrams to show you how to do each stitch.
In addition to your fabric and embroidery threads, you will need polyester wadding, toy stuffing and a little rattle or squeaker.
You will also need your usual sewing tools.
There is a template provided for cutting out your tiger shape. Once you have added the detail, it is then a simple job to stitch the two pieces together.
We recommend machine stitching for safety.
If you love making toys, you can find more ideas in designer Susie Johns’ book, “Fat Quarter: Toys”, which is available from GMC Publications.
