Craft Preview: March 21, 2020 Issue

Welcome to our craft preview, giving you a glimpse of the fun crochet our readers can expect in the “Friend” this week.

Believe it or not, you can crochet this colourful bouquet using simple stitches.

It is worked in Lily Sugar ‘n Cream in shades Strawberry Ombre (00144), Rose Pink (00046), Hot Pink (01740) and Hot Green (01712). The Strawberry Ombre adds colour variations to provide contrast against the stronger solid shades.

You can order yarn direct from www.readicut.co.uk and view alternative shades there, too.

In addition to a 4 mm crochet hook, you will need florist wire. This is readily available from florists, craft shops and online.

We have graded this bouquet as intermediate. There is nothing too tricky about it — the stitches are chain, double crochet, half treble and double treble.

But working behind the round and in loops might need a little practice if you have not done this before.

Now there is no reason not to have flowers around the house.

Or why not make a few for family and friends, too?
