This illustration by Ged Fay was commissioned and completed in 2024 and will appear in Special 273, on sale Feb 26.

As 2024 draws to a close, Illustrations Editor, Manon, has selected just some of her stand-out artworks from this year.

“Looking back at 2024, I’ve selected one favourite work from our short story artists, because they beautifully showcase a diverse range of creative compositions, atmospheres, and colour schemes,” Manon explains.

“All resonating with the magazine’s commitment to uplifting storytelling, timeless tradition, and celebrating life’s simple joys.

I am deeply grateful to each of our contributors, whose authentic and dedicated work brings every story to life with such care and creativity.”
