Georgia’s trip to London

I had a fleeting visit down to London last week for a conference and a spot of sight seeing.

Last Monday I took the train from Dundee to London to attend a social media conference on Tuesday.

When I arrived in London I dropped my bags at the hotel and navigated my way to our office on Fleet street to visit our lovely advertising team.

This was the first time I had seen their office so I was given the grand tour, shown everything from the lovely meeting rooms right down to the stationery cupboard!

It had been a few years since I had last been to London, so after my visit to Fleet Street, I thought I’d do some sightseeing and enjoy the sun.

Fun in the sun

I walked from Fleet Street to Convent Garden passing all the theatres on the way.

Covent Garden was busy with everyone enjoying some late afternoon shopping and drinks.

I stopped to listen to a guitarist that was playing down in one of the bars in the lower part of Covent Garden, it was great to see how many people also stopped to listen to the live music.

I then went for a quick look in the Moomin shop, I used to love watching The Moomin’s when I was growing up.

The Social Media conference on Tuesday was great, it was really informative and to meet so many people from different backgrounds sharing information and solutions to problems was fantastic.

There were lot’s of talks from people who specialise in different areas and we had plenty of opportunities to get involved and mingle with everyone attending the conference.

I came away with some new ideas to share with the team on social media and for other areas.

Day two in the big smoke

Tuesday evening I did some more sightseeing, I walked along the river to go and see Big Ben forgetting he is in the middle of getting done up! so I settled for visiting the Lego Big Ben, which is very impressive in its own right.

It was early to bed on Tuesday, as my train back to Scotland was at 7 am on Wednesday morning as I had to be in Edinburgh for 12 pm to meet my sister and grandparents for lunch before heading to The Edinburgh Playhouse for the afternoon performance of Wicked.

That was the second time I have seen Wicked and it was just as good the second time around!
