An easy recipe for low-fat and vegan ice-cream? Tell me more
With the recent warm weather, there’s nothing better than eating your body weight in ice-cream and sitting in a hastily bought paddling pool.
But as this weather is not going anywhere, it’s not sustainable if you’re into your health, and that’s what had me googling a healthier solution.
The solution I found, is banana ice-cream. Banana ice-cream is sometimes called Vegan ice-cream too and enjoyed by everyone the world over.
The easiest ice-cream to make
The ice-cream is the easiest to make, all you need is some bananas and a freezer. Yes, it really is that simple.
Simply chop several bananas, freeze for four hours, pop in a food processor, mix until completely blended, decant to a dish, freeze for an hour, and enjoy.
You can add in any additions you like, and make a variation of popular flavours. Perhaps add chocolate chips, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, broken cookies, toffee sauce, maple syrup, or keep it plain.
Healthy and low fat
Once you have made the basic ice-cream, you can experiment with flavours and the ones I have listed above might not be your favourite, so do play around.
This recipe guide from Chocolate covered Katie gave me lots of ideas and gives you even more images of ice cream to look at so you have an idea of what you are aiming for.
Bananas we know are loaded with potassium, a single banana has a massive 450mg of potassium, so they are a great source of the mineral. Bananas also contain fibre, protein, magnesium, vitamin B6 and 9mg of vitamin C!
It’s no surprise they are a daily staple for many people and with this delicious recipe for N’ice-cream, we are sure even more people are going to add them to their summer diet!
