Editor’s Diary: Walking In A Winter Wonderland

editors diary

This week in my Editor’s Diary, I’m going to let my pictures do the talking. So I hope you enjoy them!

We had snow last week. Lots of it.

This isn’t uncommon in North-east Fife in winter. But both the quantity and quality were a little unusual. Well over a foot of snow fell in one day. And it was lovely, soft, dry snow – perfect for crunching through!

Once it stopped falling, the sun came out and transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland. It was a photographer’s dream.

Conditions like this don’t just make for good photos, though. As Fiction team’s Abbie found out, they can also bring out the best in people.

If the snow is still thick on the ground where you are, I recommend settling down somewhere warm and relaxing with the special Christmas episode of our podcast, “Reading Between The Lines”.

Just the thing for a snowy evening

We recently received a lovely review from a listener in Canada, who described it like this:

“Very funny, just the thing for a snowy evening. Reminds me of the radio dramas of the ‘olden’ days. Judey has a wonderful voice for reading, also enjoy her reading the People’s Friend audio stories. Well done. I looked forward to more stories.”

We couldn’t be more pleased to hear that our readers are enjoying it! So if you do listen, please let us know what you think!

You can learn more about each episode of “Reading Between The Lines” by clicking here. And you can read some more of our reviews here.

“The People’s Friend” team all took to the streets with their cameras early in lockdown, to give readers a little glimpse of their local area. You can take a look at our “Out And About” series here.
