We have a cosy hot water bottle cover for you this week.

Our hot water bottle is the perfect choice for this time of year. We have chosen a seasonal design which would also make a lovely gift. Starting now will give you plenty of time to have it ready to pop under the Christmas tree.

The cover is worked in West Yorkshire spinners The Croft Aran in the shades Stanydale (1011), Reawick (1010) and Sullum (010).

Cover of Fair Isle Knitting

In the magazine we have an offer for you of a yarn pack containing all the yarn needed to make this hot water bottle cover, which is available from Monica Russel, the designer.

The cover is worked in stocking-stitch following a chart. One side has a button fastening, the other side is worked in the same way but without the opening.

Difficulty Level

We have graded this as an intermediate design. Working with colours and following a chart is best practised if you have little experience of it.

We recommend twisting the yarns at every colour change to avoid a hole forming, and then weaving in the yarns at the back of your work.
