Knit A Toddler’s Dress: How To
Difficulty: Easy
We have a lovely knitted dress this week, perfect for a toddler.
Who could resist this lovely dress with its two-button fastening and ribbon tie?
We have worked it in a cotton yarn, Rico Creative Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton DK in the shade Green (013). This vibrant, multi-tonal yarn is a textured spiral-plied DK in a blend of cotton, acrylic and polyester. But, there are many shades to choose from.
In addition to the yarn, you will need two buttons and a metre of 10 mm wide double-faced satin ribbon.
The dress comes in four sizes ranging from 51 cm (20 ins) to 66 cm (26 ins). Actual size is 3 – 6 cm larger depending on the size.
There is a basic two-row pattern with decrease rows heading upwards plus an eyelet row to accommodate the ribbon. You add the picot borders along the bottom edges at the end.
The sleeves are in stocking-stitch, mirroring the yoke. All in all, it will be a quick knit to make.
Our little model, Isla loved this dress and we are sure your little one will love it, too.
