How to work this free embroidery pattern:

Coloured outline diagram

Outline diagram – adjust your printout so your outline measures approximately 15.5cm diameter

1. Print out the design outline above and transfer it to your fabric using the heat-erase pen. It should measure around 15.5cm across. You could enlarge or reduce it before you print to suit your requirements. Remember you may have to adjust the materials required if you work it in a different size.

2. Begin your piece by stitching your mushrooms. These are stitched mainly using satin stitch, but also use back stitch on the large mushroom, and French knots on the two medium sized mushrooms for their spots. Use the images as a guide and pay attention to the direction your satin stitch goes.

3. Stitch the stems of your flowers using stem stitch. Next, stitch your leaves using fishbone stitch. These leaves have an elongated look, that can be achieved by using longer stitches for the fishbone.

4. For your daisies, use satin stitch for the petals, then fill in the centres with French knots. The circular flowers are made by outlining, then filling in with French knots.
