Crochet Preview: October 28, 2023
Amigurumi fans will love our little kitten design.
Amigurumi is a Japanese style of crochet where you make tiny little 3D models, and our little kitten is the perfect example.
It is worked in Lion Brand Mandala Ombre, a variegated yarn that creates an interesting fabric. This saves you changing yarns as you work. The shade we used is Cool (201).
If you cannot find this yarn locally, you can order direct from www.woolwarehouse.co.uk.
In addition to the yarn, you will need a 2.75 mm crochet hook, two safety eyes and some crochet thread in Black, White and Pink for embroidering the features. You will also need polyester stuffing.
Difficulty Level
We have graded our kitten as Easy. It is worked in the round and in double crochet (UK terms) and there are step-by-step instructions for making up the kitten.
This design was taken from the book, “Yarn Cake Amigurumi” by Jacki Donhou, which is published by GMC Publications, RRP £14.99. It is full of fun designs, so if you enjoy amigurumi, this is the perfect book for you.
