A Londoner by birth, Terry’s career as an actor, director and occasional playwright covers six decades, and includes visits to the USA, Canada and New Zealand. Having written a number of plays for television and radio, he went on to write his first stage play about the life and career of Judy Garland for his wife, Lesley Mackie, whose performance in the West End of London won her a Laurence Olivier Award in 1986. Terry has also recorded more than 200 audio books. He and Lesley now live in Perth where they first met as actors more than 40 years ago.
