“Super Thursday” may sound as though it’s related to a tight election or the dramatic conclusion to a hectic sporting calendar.
But it’s better than that . . . for book lovers, anyway!
An incredible 600 new books will hit the shelves this Thursday, September 3, thanks to a publishing backlog caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Super indeed!
Authors including Nadiya Hussain, Lauren Child, Caitlin Moran, Richard Osman and Will Young will be hoping that their new offerings will make it onto lockdown reading lists.
And, dare we say it, even the odd Christmas list . . .
Bookshops across the country have worked hard to create safe shopping environments for browsers. So if you feel comfortable with it, you should definitely head out to visit one in your local area.
As with many businesses up and down the country, bookshops have been facing quite a few challenges recently.
While ordering online is certainly convenient, there’s nothing quite like the feel and smell of a good book. For us, it always makes choosing your next read that much easier.
And with hundreds to choose from on Super Thursday, you’re bound to find something you like.
Happy reading!
