21st National Whale And Dolphin Watch

National Whale & Dolphin Watch

This summer is the Sea Watch Foundation’s 21st annual National Whale and Dolphin Watch. And this nine-day citizen science event needs you to get involved.

By joining in, you raise awareness on how to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises across the country.

As Ceri Beynon-Davies, Senior Marine Advisor at National Resources Wales points out:

“We’re really pleased to support the Sea Watch Foundation’s National Whale and Dolphin Watch, as it’s such an important event. It develops what we know about the distribution of whales, dolphins and porpoises around Wales and the UK.

“Which is why we encourage everyone who is interested to get involved. Also our citizen scientists play a crucial role in gathering the research. Not only that, getting out as a community for a watch and to record the data is so beneficial for our mental and physical health, too.

“So, it’s a great opportunity to get involved with understanding and protecting these magnificent creatures. And we really can’t do it without you!”
