We have a lovely textured sweater for you in this week’s knitting preview.
Our cabled sweater offers a modern take on a traditional design. Big chunky cables feature throughout with smaller twists and cables set on a background of reverse stocking-stitch in the central panel and stocking-stitch at the sides. Raglan sleeves complete the look.
The sweater has a lovely textured design without too much weight as it is knitted in a DK yarn – Stylecraft Highland Heathers DK in Bracken (3747). This 100% acrylic yarn features a tweed effect, which works particularly well with cables. Find your nearest stockist or view alternative shades at www.stylecraft-yarns.co.uk.
Sizes range from 86/91 cm (34/36 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). Actual size is around 18/13 cm (7/5 ins) bigger offering a comfortable fit.
We have graded this design as an intermediate one. The pattern consists of 24 rows with a mixture of cable and twist stitch stitches throughout. We would recommend keeping a note of each row to make sure you don’t lose the place.
Finally, this sweater is great value, and even the largest size costing less than £20 to make. With everyone anticipating much more outdoor living this year, this is the perfect extra layer.
