Worked in autumnal colours, this hexagonal knitted quilt pattern is so easy to complete and would look amazing draped over a bed or sofa. A cosy addition to your home this autumn and winter.

Hezagonal quilt knitting pattern: Measurements

Approx 54½” x 62″ [138.5 x 157.5 cm].

Gauge

8 sts and 16 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in garter st (knit every row).


You will need:

  • Bernat® Blanket™ (10.5 oz/300 g; 220 yds/201 m): Contrast A Twilight (10905) 2 balls or 293 yds/268 m; Contrast B Vintage White (10006) 2 balls or 440 yds/402 m; Contrast C Terracotta Rose (10880) 1 ball or 150 yds/137 m; Contrast D Aquatic (10801) 1 ball or 184 yds/168 m; Contrast E Sunsoaked (10918) 1 ball or 173 yds/158 m
  • Size U.S. 11 (8 mm) Susan Bates® Silvalume® knitting needles.
  • Size U.S. 11 (8 mm) Susan Bates® Silvalume® circular knitting needle 29″ (73.5 cm) long or size needed to obtain gauge. Susan Bates® yarn needle

Notes

Blanket is made with 7 Panels. Panels are sewn tog in Finishing.

When working 2 row Stripe Pattern, carry color when not in use loosely up side of work. Be sure to work around strands to enclose during seaming.

Finishing

Following assembly diagram above, sew 7 Panels tog.

Right Side Edging: (RS). With B and circular needle, pick up and knit 108 sts evenly along right side edge of Blanket. Do not join in rnd. Working back and forth across needle, knit 1 row, noting first row is WS.

With A, knit 2 rows.

With B, knit 2 rows.

With A, knit 2 rows.

Cast off.

Left Side Edging: Work as for Right Side Edging along left side of blanket.

Top Edging: (RS). With B and circular needle, pick up and knit 109 sts evenly along top edge of Blanket. Do not join in rnd. Working back and forth across needle, knit 1 row, noting first row is WS.

With A, knit 2 rows.

With B, knit 2 rows.

Rep last 4 rows twice more.

With A, knit 2 rows.

Cast off.

Bottom Edging: Work as for Top Edging along bottom edge of blanket.
