There’s good humour in your story – is that a big part of your writing?
I feel it’s important to look at the funny side of life. Sometimes there’s nothing quite like a good belly laugh to help you feel good inside.
Stationery – can or can’t live without it?
I like stationery. Definitely. The brighter the better. Notebooks, pens, pads, journals; they’re often somewhere in my vicinity.
What types of books do you like to read – any favourite authors?
I read a lot of different things – there’s no favourite genre or author. I am now reading “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens, and also Jeffrey Archer.
Are you working on any new writing projects at the moment?
Writing another short story that I am hoping, and working very hard on, will be in another issue of “The People’s Friend”.
Notebook and pencil or laptop? Kitchen table or study? Blank wall or inspiring view?
Both for the first one. It’s tricky to pull out a laptop and write something if you are on the bus. A good view is inspirational. But anything that gets your creative juices flowing is also good.
What’s your one top tip for aspiring writers?
It’s a cliché, I know – but persevere, persevere and persevere.
