A popular pub in Northern Ireland has released a Christmas ad which has reached thousands and will have you reaching for the tissues.
The ad, which you can watch in full below, features an elderly man visiting what appears to be his partner’s grave before spending the rest of his day alone.
After being ignored by a number of passers-by on the street, he enters Charlie’s bar – his local pub. He takes a seat by the cosy fire to enjoy his pint alone.
It’s then that a young couple’s super friendly dog jumps up to greet the man. This leads to the couple deciding to sit and have a drink with him. The interaction is a warm connection that creates a sense of belonging for the man. Christmas can be a lonely time for many.

The clip ends with the quote: “There are no strangers here, only friends you haven’t met yet.”
The ad only cost £700 to make, yet it’s poignant message has accumulated tens of thousands of likes on social media. Even catching the eye of John Lewis, which basically trademarked the tear-jerking Christmas ad trend.
“We’re not crying, you are. Merry Christmas,” their official TikTok account commented under the video.
