We have a double helping of Christmas knitting and crochet in this week’s bumper issue.
How To Knit A Christmas Party Sweater
Knitters, we have a party sweater to add a little extra sparkle to the festive season.
It features King Cole Galaxy DK, a soft acrylic and wool mix yarn that incorporates sparkly sequins. To find out more about the yarn and find a local or online stockist, visit www.kingcole.com.
The feather pattern repeats throughout the front and back over a 40-row pattern. The drop shoulders mean that there is very little shaping.
Sizes range from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 137/142 cm (54/56 ins). Actual size is around 33/28 cm (13/11 ins) bigger giving a nice relaxed fit.
How To Crochet A Poinsettia
Crochet fans have will love our everlasting poinsettia. This is ideal to brighten up your home and it will make a lovely festive gift.
The yarns used include Stylecraft Special DK and Sirdar Happy Cotton. In addition, you will need floristry and gardening wire, polyester stuffing and a plant pot.
Work each leaf/petal separately, and then combine and attached to the stem. Even the soil in the pot is crocheted!
The poinsettia features in the book, “Crocheted Houseplants” by Emma Varnam, published by GMC Publications, RRP £16.99. It is available online and from all good bookshops.
We hope you will love our festive ideas.
