We have an easy sweater pattern for you this week.
Our simple garment looks far more complicated than it is.
The self-patterning yarn does all the work creating a Fair-Isle look. Yes, one yarn and no colour changes creates this sweater, which is simple enough for an inexperienced knitter to tackle.
The yarn used is King Cole Fjord DK in shade Molde (4554). You can discover more about the yarn and find your nearest stockist at www.kingcole.com.
Instructions are included for six sizes ranging from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins).
Actual size is around 24/19 cm (9½/7½ ins), giving a looser, and more casual, fit.
The sweater is worked in stocking-stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) throughout.
There is some simple shoulder shaping on the front and back and increases on the sleeves.
Being so easy to knit, this sweater should work up quickly.
If you are looking for ideas for Christmas knitting, this is the ideal choice.
You can find this sweater pattern in this week’s issue of “The People’s Friend”, on sale from Wednesday.
