Lace panels feature in our lovely cardigan pattern this week.
Our cardigan is worked in a recycled DK yarn with is both comfortable to wear and great for the environment.
The cardigan comes in six sizes ranging from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). Actual size is around 12/7 cm (4½/2½ ins) larger. We would recommend you work your usual size.
The lace panel is worked over six rows and nine stitches and repeated front and back. Then you work the sleeves in stocking-stitch (knit one row, purl one row).
As you can see from the photograph, the buttons run from neck to waist. You will need seven in total. Our buttons came from Duttons For Buttons.
We have chosen Stylecraft ReCreate 100% Recycled DK yarn in shade Smoke (1943). As the name suggests, this yarn is a blend of recycles fibres, resulting in a comfortable mix of 40% wool, 30% acrylic and 30% polyester.

We have graded our cardigan as intermediate as you do need to keep track of where you are at all times. If you are confident about working lace stitches (working stitches together and placing your yarn round the needle) then this is the ideal design for you.
