casual top

This week’s casual top comes in a beautiful blue, inspired by the Caribbean, the perfect shade for summer.

A 12-row pattern repeat creates the eye-catching chequerboard effect, worked front and back and on the elbow-length sleeves. The yoke is in straightforward stocking-stitch (knit one row, purl one row).

The top comes in six sizes ranging from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). Actual size is around 16/11 cm (6/4¼ ins) larger so we would recommend working your usual size.

The yarn is King Cole Paradise Beaches in shade Blue Jamaica (3005). You can view the other summery shades available and find stockist information at www.kingcole.com.

This is a very practical top, which will wash and wear, making it perfect for all occasions. It is great value, too, with the first three sizes costing around £12 and the final three sizes around £16 to knit.

It will knit up quickly, too, meaning you can soon have it completed.

So why not opt for a blue summer this year?
