The “Friend” Facebook Live: A Little Taste Of Home

facebook live

Regular viewers of our Friday Facebook Live broadcasts will notice that things have been a little different these past few weeks.

Usually there are three of us, huddled round a table in our Dundee office. The noise of traffic outside the window, or colleagues passing by the door.

But with everyone working from home now, that hasn’t been possible.

We were keen not to let the broadcasts fall by the wayside though. We really appreciate the opportunity to talk to our readers directly, and we know you like to see us now and again, too!

So I had a bash at the first solo attempt (practise for my inevitable career in stand-up comedy. You heard it here first). A little more nerve-wracking than normal? Maybe. But it doesn’t take long to get into the swing of things!

Then Editor Angela took her turn on camera. She’s mentioned that the bonus of video calling colleagues is the opportunity to snoop on their houses. You’ll notice from this video that she has a very nice toaster.

Last week, Features Ed Alex took a walk in the country (his back yard) to introduce us to his hens. Considering the number of technical difficulties we’ve experienced in the office, it was a risky manoeuvre on his part. And it worked like a treat.

Perhaps his complaints of frequent power cuts aren’t to be believed . . .

There will definitely be more to come, just as long as you still want to hear from us!

Please do tune in to our Facebook Live broadcasts at 11 a.m. every Friday and say hello. It’s appreciated now more than ever!

We’ll stick the kettle on.
