Before working on “The Peoples Friend” magazine I was a Product Manager for DCT Media, my role was to ensure the print and on time delivery of magazine titles to both the retail market place and to the subscribers, across a varied range of titles. This included both mature and kids titles that varied in frequency between three-weekly and monthly publishing dates.
This involved overseeing and liaising with print suppliers over magazine print and finishing, mailing of subscription copies and distribution of the titles to market, as well as our Export territories.
As Lead Product Manager I began working on two of DCT Media’s biggest magazine titles, the much loved brands and weekly magazines – the “Beano” and “The Peoples Friend”.
I still have similar responsibilities but also required to ensure successful file supply of all magazine pages for print, created by the hard working teams that produce the “Friend’s” content. The main challenge is fitting all of this in to the deadlines to ensure the finished weekly magazine product.
It is challenging but very important to oversee the quality of the finished “The Peoples Friend” magazine and the timely, weekly delivery of the magazine to the very loyal and valued subscribers and readers. I have the pleasure, albeit in unfortunate circumstances, of contacting readers with complaints to resolve any problems and implement any actions that arrive from the complaint.
