How To Craft A Christmas Present Sack
Difficulty: Easy
Become Santa’s little helper and craft a festive Christmas present sack.
This is the perfect way to wrap gifts for someone special.
Our present sack is easy to make using a sewing machine and the usual sewing tools.
You will need linen fabric (or similar), contrasting cotton fabric (we used one with red spots) and a Christmas fabric. Add some ribbon, mini pom poms, red felt and a length of silver metallic embroidery thread and you are all set.
Our bag measures approx. 40 cm (15¾ ins) x 50 cm (19½ ins) but you could easily adjust the size to suit your gift.
We take you through all the stages step by step so if you are not too experienced in sewing, you should be fine. There are no templates, just use a ruler to achieve the tree shape.
Many readers are looking at ways to cut down on wrapping and waste this year, and our present sack is the ideal solution.
Many of you have contributed to our Love Darg and there is still time to make a dressing gown or poncho for Knit for Peace. If you need a reminder of what this wonderful charity does, or you need the patterns, please click here. Donations can be sent to:
