Story Starter: Follow The Path…

Will this Story Starter image inspire your next short story?

Where does this path go? I hope that’s the question this story starter image arouses and it’ll inspire you to write a short story for “The People’s Friend”.

You can think of it literally – what’s actually around that bend? That house we can just see…. Or metaphorically – what’s just around the bend for any of us?

Does this suggest a mystery story to you? A romance? A coming of age theme? I hope it inspires something in you, anyway, and then I’ll be delighted to read whatever results.

I’m still looking only for 2000, 3000 or 4000 words. Unfortunately we’re still over supplied with 1200 so none at that length, please.

Thanks, and enjoy letting your mind wander!

If you’ve been thinking about attending one of our story writing workshops, by the way, we do an exercise like this there, too. Why not come along? Still a few places available- booking form here, and you can also read guest blog posts by my fellow presenters, successful “People’s Friend” writers  Helen Yendall, Lydia Jones and Kate Blackadder.
