Story Starter: Yacht

My Story Starter this week shows a little yacht – sailing dinghy – skiff….call it what you will, tied up at the pebbly foreshore at the seaside.  What story does it start to tell you? Is it about the boat? Or the bay? The seaside resort, or the bridge in the background taking travellers across the river – to and from where? I know this is a river – the silvery River Tay on a still summer’s day – but it looks like a lake, doesn’t it? Does that set you thinking? Maybe you’re wondering about the unseen sailor…

I’d love to see what kind of story it inspires you to write. As ever, 2000 or 3000 words is the most useful length.
